Next Generation is a young bluegrass band based primarily out of Southern California. They formed as the “Demo” band at San Diego Summergrass Festival 2010 to demonstrate the instruments that were to be raffled by the festival. The band was very well recieved by the attendees of the festival. The professional bands performing at the festival were also very impressed with the remarkable talent of all the Next Generation members. Their tight harmonies, along with the clarity and timing of their instrumentals, made them sound like an established band that had been together much longer than the few days they performed at Summergrass. In 2012, Next Generation won first place in the prestigious Topanga Banjo and Fiddle Competition. The group has had the privilege of performing at many premier bluegrass festivals, and has just released their first cd. The band is made up of young musicians (20 and under), who look forward to performing for audiences and honing their craft on stages throughout the United States.
