J.D. Given & Company

J.D. Given & Company

This group brings extraordinary instrumental talent together to present an eclectic repertoire suited to the “Derailed” programming on Sirius XM.

Joe Payne has always been a flatpicker growing up in Kansas City, Missouri where he was friends with Dan Crary and heavily influenced by his clean powerful style. A Grammy winning artist who played first chair guitar for twelve years in the Broadway production of Jersey Boys, he has since expanded his musical expertise to include dobro and mandolin. He also shares Vocal duties in the band.

Dan Sankey is also a well-known multi-instrumentalist in the bluegrass community as well as in theatrical productions. In JDG&Co he plays banjo, fiddle and mandolin as well as vocals.

Given Harrison (founder and original member of many bands, including “Late for Supper”, “The Unstrung Heroes”, “The Tail Draggers”, and “Drought Tolerant Bluegrass Band”) on bass and vocals.

With this group you get traditional bluegrass with occasional surprises from other genres using traditional bluegrass instrumentation.
