The Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum at 2040 N Santa Fe Avenue, Vista, CA (also known as AGSEM) is a truly amazing place. The museum has both working and static displays, and is home to the new West Coast Clock and Watch Museum, the Palomar Handweavers Guild, The Short Track Railroad Club, Vista Forge – California Blacksmith Association and Vista Gem and Mineral Society, plus acres and acres of steam and gas engine powered farm equipment and vehicles.
Every August, the AGSEM becomes home to Summergrass San Diego Bluegrass Festival for six days, Wednesday through Monday. The three day bluegrass festival starts officially on Friday and runs through Sunday, but campers arrive as early as Wednesday afternoon and don’t check out until they must on Monday.
